Right now, on any given week, the Las Vegas Strip has multiple major residencies running within a few miles of each other: Kelly Clarkson at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Kenny Chesney opening a new Sphere residency this summer, and Marc Anthony at Fontainebleau, on top of the rest of the year-round residency lineup up and down the corridor. For a producer scoping an aerial shoot tied to any one of those venues, or running b-roll, promo, or unrelated production work in the same corridor during the same weeks, the operative question stops being “can we fly here” and becomes “whose event, whose airspace clearance, and whose liability chain are we stepping into this week.”
Standing Authorization Is Necessary, Not Sufficient

Resort properties that host residencies carry their own risk exposure from running a marquee show every night, and they’ve gotten more particular about vetting outside vendors as a result, requiring certificates of insurance naming the property as additionally insured, coordination with venue security, and paperwork that has to satisfy the venue’s risk team on top of the FAA’s.
The Insurance Conversation Producers Should Expect
Professional drone operators working the Strip typically carry meaningful liability coverage. Five million dollars is close to standard, and some operators carry $10 million for higher-exposure work.
